CAII is to expand the original vision that informed The Syllabus, namely that there are viable digital alternatives to the narrow visions that dominate the public debate. Over the past two years, we have been impressed with the number of people who reached out to us offering help and asking for ways to get involved. CAII is our attempt to build a larger community around our efforts.
Our most important goal is to turn some of the curatorial infrastructures developed at The Syllabus into free software, allowing other institutions and organisations to take control of their own information flows.
We also hope to enrich the public conversation on infrastructural and institutions alternatives through events, publications, and niche efforts like The Crypto Syllabus or The Politics of Covid-19 (which we ran between March and June 2020 at the height of the crisis).
We have a lot in store for 2024, so stay tuned!
